Literally a long time ago, four decades ago to be exact, a short movie was commissioned by George Lucas himself to play before The Empire Strikes Back in movie theatres. That movie was Dark Angel, written and directed by Roger Christian. Christian had previously worked on the original Star Wars, and won the Oscar for set decoration. The resulting 25 Minute short movie he created was steeped in atmosphere and ancient mythology. It became a cult classic among Star Wars fans and was thought to be lost forever until a negative resurfaced a few years ago. Since then it has been rereleased on iTunes and several other mediums and interest has been rekindled in the cult classic.
Now it has just been announced the Dark Angel is going to be made into full length feature. The great thing is that anyone can play a part in the creation of this through indiegogo.
